Study Committee Meeting/Public Input Meeting on Future of Airport Facilities

Master Plan Update

A Study Committee meeting and a public input meeting about the future of Aspen airport facilities took place on May 23.  The purpose of the meetings was to present preliminary alternatives for airport facility improvements and to gather public feedback.  

The Study Committee meeting took place from 1:30-3:30 p.m.  The public meeting took place from 6:30-8:30 p.m.  Both meetings were held at the Airport Operations Facility on Owl Creek Road, on the west side of the runway.

Master Plan Update

Airport officials held 11 Public Airport Facility Planning Charrettes in January and March of 2011. The purpose of these meetings was to gain public input into planning for all airport facilities, including the terminal, parking, private aviation facilities, hangars and more. The meetings were held as part of the Airport’s Master Plan Update process.

Fly Quiet Program Recognizes Top Performers

In March, the Board of County Commissioners will meet to announce and congratulate the list of the top performers in the voluntary Fly Quiet Program at the Aspen/Pitkin Airport. These operators will be recognized with Certificates of Compliance. At this meeting, the 2010 Fly Quiet Report will be released. This report identifies the top ten best performers, the most improved performer, and the top overall performer, as based on the voluntary Fly Quiet procedures in place at the Airport. The Airport appreciates the commitment of so many pilots to the Fly Quiet Program which has resulted in noise reduction benefits to the Aspen community.

 

Airport Facility Planning Meetings

Master Plan Update

Public Airport Facility Planning Charrettes will be held March 14 and 15, 2011. The public is encouraged to attend to give input into planning for all airport facilities, including the terminal, fixed base operation, hangers and more.
The schedule is as follows:
